Hello everyone for those of you who do not know me my name is, Imelda Duenas. I am your new Valle Del Sol District Executive. I have served as a Spanish Translator and Instructional Aide in the Azusa Unified School District. I tutored in the San Gabriel Valley area. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminology from California State Polytechnic University. In addition, I volunteered at St. Frances of Rome Church in Azusa where I held a leadership position in the Youth Ministry. I am very happy to be here and look forward to meeting and working with you.

Dear Unit Leaders,

Wow, what a great Camporee this past weekend! Over 450 Scouts and Adult leaders participated in this year's event. A big thanks to the OA for a great job in once again organizing our Camporee, and a special thanks to John Nelson, and his team for an outstanding effort. In addition, thank you to the Troops who stepped up to run events. We appreciate your "can do" attitude, and your commitment to scouting. You well know ... without volunteers, we would not be able to put together such a successful program. Again Thank You! We hope to increase participation among the Troops next year to run a scout skills event. This is a very good opportunity for your older scouts to demonstrate their leadership skills.

In addition, I'd like to acknowledge our "Presidential" Award Winners. These are the top 5 of 48 total patrols who excelled in nearly every event ... clearly demonstrating their knowledge of scout skills. There was a total of 1,000 points possible and here is how our top 5 scored.

1. T448 Monsters (946 points)

2. T443 Spartans (894)

3. T491 Rattlesnakes (889)

4. T483 Vikings (887)

5. T486 Trebles (883)

Congratulations to these patrols, and everyone who participated in this year's Camporee. I've attached the score sheet for all the Patrols. As you can see, our boys did very well!!

Yours in Scouting
